Recently, we’ve seen a surge in counterfeit CHANEL listings on popular flea market and auction sites.
Many of these sellers mix our original photos with their own, misleading buyers into thinking the item is authentic.
We’ve received numerous messages from our long-time clients saying:
“Your photos are being used—is that listing affiliated with you?”
After reviewing these cases, we’ve found that almost all are fakes.
Differences in model numbers, color codes, stitching, and buttons may be subtle,
but as CHANEL specialists, we can spot them quickly.
Unfortunately, most buyers can’t—leading to counterfeit sales at nearly half the price of the genuine piece (as of November 3, 2025).
We regret that we cannot respond to every inquiry,
but we prioritize requests from our repeat customers and cases where our photos are being used without permission.
(We hold nearly all catalog references, product numbers, and official font data
and plan to upload as much reference material as possible.)
This particular jacket is one of the most commonly counterfeited pieces.
Although the authentic version is ivory,
many fake listings incorrectly state the color code as “94305 (Black)”.
We’ve also seen numerous mismatches in product numbers, panel construction, and stitching.
Many of these fakes are visually convincing,
so we urge buyers to proceed with caution.

which suggests that they may not be aware the piece is a counterfeit.
This means the seller themselves may also be a victim of the situation.
The Little Black Jacket comes in a wide range of styles and construction details across various years,
making it a frequent target for highly convincing fakes.
We strongly recommend exercising caution when purchasing this model,

結論から言うと・・
「いいえ。見分けられません。」がお答えとなるので注意が必要です。
いろんなブログなどで「Eの文字の真ん中の横棒が少し短いのが本物です！」
などと書かれてあります。
それが原因だと思うのですが、シャネルのよく知らない場合は
「あ！Eの横棒が皆同じ長さだから偽物だ！」と
思われる方がいるかも知れませんので
少しだけラベルをアップさせていただきます
注意＊以前シャネルブティック店員さんも
同じようなことを言っておられたのですが
若い店員の方なら知らないのも当然なのかなと思いました
（もちろん、指摘も否定もしませんでした
そもそも偽物も見たことないでしょうし・・・）
以下は全て本物ラベルです
Eの横棒は全て同じ長さです
ですが、そうは言っても
「ならば、じゃあ この年代のものはみんなEの横棒は同じ長さなのね？」
というとそうではない型番もございます
ここがややこしく難しいところです。
・CHANELロゴの字体の細さ
・型番の字体
・文字の間隔
・文字がはじまる位置
なども細かく全て違います
（同じ型番においては同じですが
同年代ならば同じ、ということはありません）

先日 初めてご来店いただいたお客様から
「このシャネルジャケットには裾にチェーンがついていませんが
偽造品の可能性はないでしょうか」
とのご質問をいただきました
私どもは日々シャネルを扱っているため
気に留めていませんでしたが 改めて重要なご指摘だと感じました
結論として 全てのシャネルジャケットに
チェーンが付属しているわけではありません
デザインや素材によってチェーンを付けないケースも多く
実際に着用すると「確かにこの方が快適だ」
と納得できる仕立てになっています
たとえば2011年春のジャケットは 後ろ丈が長い独特のデザインですが
このような場合 裾にチェーンを付けると
後ろに引っ張られる重みが出てしまうため
元々チェーンは付いていません
したがって 裾にチェーンがあるかないかは
真贋を判断する決定的な要素ではありません
The other day, a first-time visitor to our store asked a question that genuinely surprised us:
“This Chanel jacket doesn’t have a chain at the hem
—could that mean it’s a counterfeit?”
Because we handle Chanel pieces on a daily basis,
it was something we had never really thought twice about.
Yet it made us realize this is an important point to clarify.
In conclusion, not every Chanel jacket comes with a chain at the hem.
Depending on the design or fabric, many pieces are intentionally made without one,
and once worn it often becomes clear
—“Yes, this feels much better without the chain.”
For example, the Spring 2011 jacket features a unique design with a longer back hem.
In such cases, if a chain were added,
it would weigh the hem down and pull backward, making it less comfortable.
That is precisely why these jackets were originally produced without chains.
Therefore, the presence or absence of a hem chain
should not be considered a decisive factor in determining authenticity.

Fakes have already appeared for collections such as the 2021 Pre-Fall and Métiers d’Art,
and they are even being listed on major online platforms with many users.
We have had cases where clients asked us,
“Is it safe to purchase this piece?” and upon inspection,
unfortunately, it turned out to be counterfeit.
It was once said that intricate designs could not be replicated,
but today counterfeits are crafted with such precision
that many people cannot tell the difference from the authentic pieces.
Cases of buyers spending large sums only to end up with fakes continue to increase,

③Care tags is slightly different
- wrong fonts,
-wrong spaces between numbers
- Mostly the copy ones have exactly the same a portion of material
( such as,78% Wool, 17% Rayon, 2% Cotton, 2% Nylon, 1% Silk)
so you can't recognize fakes out of this points.
④ Chain material at the hem is slightly different
( mostly - the copy is smaller or thinner and a different shade of color)
⑤ Lining colour is a bit different,
For ex.. Copy jacket has slightly brighter ( or thinner) lining.
④ Mostly, zippers , buttons or embellishment are nearly identical but there are slight difference in person,
For ex.. the zippers of copy jacket is slightly shinier and lighter.
If it was a fake 5-6 years ago, even if you are not expert, it is quite easy to tell it was fake
from the way the jacket was made. For example, when laid flat, the front body and back body are not aligned, or the hem is not where it should be. But recently, the quality of fakes has improved dramatically, making it difficult for amateurs to distinguish them from the real thing! ! ! 😨
The differences are so subtle and easily miss them.
So, everyone, be really REALLY careful!
We have heard many cases of customers who purchased from online shops and flea market apps. After using it for about half a year, it turned out to be a fake because the quality deteriorated quickly. 今まで2012 SSコレクションで偽物に遭遇したことはなかったのですが
とあるサイトを見る限り、数点の偽物が出ております。
ある出品者さまが現在も販売されております。
アイボリー・トリミング入りジャケットで
一見だと全くわかりません
（お値段も219000円）
実際に手にとっても凝視しても分からないほど
クオリティーが上がっています。
ならば偽物でもよいのではないか？
と思ってしまうほど良くできています
問題は半年きるとヘタりが出て
縫製がずれてくる、という差が出てきます。
今回はかなり分かりやすい例をご紹介します
番号は全く同じですが 字体がまるで違っており、
また「CHANEL」ラベルの幅も違う例です
今のはわかりやすい例です。
困るのは字体も全く同じケース。
これは他の部分を見てチェックするしかありません
・ボタンの厚み
・タグの生地の滑り感
・縫製のひと針の幅
・縫い代の幅
・ニットの伸縮具合

本物はMADEの上に少し白い余白があります ↓

作品ごとによってこの余白幅は違います
つまり「幅が広いから本物」とか「 狭いから偽物」
というルールは適応しません
クセモノです！！

某オークションサイト・某個人間フリーマーケットアプリで
20-30万前後で販売されている物をずらっと見ていて
「ん？このジャケットの裏地ってカメリアだったっけ？」
と思って、タグを見てみるとなんか怪しい。
蓄積データと比べてよくチェックしてみると

かなり増えました
今はオンラインでシャネルジャケットの偽物を簡単に注文できる
サイトが複数あります。（ググってみると簡単に出てきます)
そういうものが流れに流れて某オークションサイトや
某個人間フリーマーケットアプリにも出てきているとも思われます。
つまり、現在それを売っておられる方も気づいてない
というケースがあり、その場合はご本人も悪気がないので
買い手側がきちんと見極めることさえできれば
クレームを入れると返品を受けてもらえる可能性が高いです

▶︎シャネル 2013 クルーズラインの偽物 Fake CHANEL 13C！
One of our long-time repeat clients, a very discerning customer who also shops at Chanel boutiques, recently reached out to us with a question.
They said, “I believe this is probably authentic, but something about it feels off.”
The item in question was a jacket they had acquired through an online auction site.
After close examination, we confirmed—unfortunately—it was a counterfeit.
Still, it was so well made that at first glance it could easily be mistaken for the real thing.
The client even joked, “It looks so convincing, maybe it could pass as good enough,” though of course with a wry smile.
The seller’s account showed a large number of ratings, all of them positive.
This suggests the item was likely listed without bad intent, simply because the seller themselves had not realized it was fake.
The real issue was the price—it was not cheap, but rather high.
We advised the client to request a polite return.
The discussion, however, was difficult, as the seller continued to insist the jacket was authentic.
To support the claim, we provided comparison photos of genuine buttons, linings, and material tags.
In the end, the seller replied, “I still believe it’s real, but I will accept the return.”
While not the most gracious stance, the client did receive a full refund.
What was most striking is that even such a well-informed client, with plenty of boutique experience, felt uneasy but could not be certain.
That is exactly why they turned to us for advice.
It shows how sophisticated today’s counterfeits have become—difficult to detect without professional expertise.

“I purchased a jacket from a seller who has been active for years and has excellent reviews, but…”
The seller in question is still actively listing many CHANEL items and has over 900 positive ratings.
In this case, we believe the seller may not be aware that the item is counterfeit.
We would like to give them the benefit of the doubt, as they appear to be a reputable vendor.
For that reason, we will not disclose the seller’s name.
However, we can confirm that the item was a jacket from the 2014 Fall/Winter collection—
the one famously themed around a supermarket runway.
Fakes from this collection have gradually increased in circulation,
and we began to see a notable rise in counterfeit activity around January 2022.
▶︎ Fake CHANEL Jackets from the 2015 Fall/Winter (15A)
We’ve received multiple reports of counterfeit jackets from the 2015 fall/winter collection,
especially the pieces styled around a Paris café setting.
One of our repeat customers showed us a jacket they had purchased.
The tweed quality was so high that it was nearly impossible to tell it was fake at a glance.
However, after several wears, noticeable pilling and rapid fabric deterioration began to appear.
These kinds of counterfeits reveal their flaws over time—often around six months after purchase.
In such cases, details like the product code, font style, buttons, and zipper engravings
become critical for accurate authentication.
▶︎ Fake CHANEL Item Quality Has Risen Dramatically
Since the 2013 Cruise line, the quality of counterfeit CHANEL items has improved significantly.
Examples of what now often closely mimic authentic pieces:

・Logo-woven ribbons in tweed
・Collar labels
・Size and fabric tags
・Camellia-printed silk lining
・Tweed texture
・Trimming placement and structure
These are now so well replicated that even our staff sometimes say,
"Would anyone really notice this is fake?"

A recent experience shared by one of our repeat customers
They had found a CHANEL jacket and dress they had long been searching for on a resale platform.
The seller had excellent reviews, so they went ahead with the purchase.
However, upon receiving the items, they felt something wasn’t quite right.
Unsure of how to proceed, they decided to bring the pieces to a CHANEL boutique.
They were fully aware that CHANEL does not provide authentication services,
so they framed their visit as a repair request instead.
A staff member took the items to the back for inspection.
After a short wait, they returned and simply said:
“We’re sorry, but we cannot accept this item.”
No further explanation was given.
This is a typical response when an item is not accepted due to authenticity concerns.
In such cases, it is almost certainly a counterfeit.
If you find yourself in a similar situation, contact the seller immediately.
Most reputable sellers will offer a refund, especially those who have been operating for a long time—
handling counterfeits poses a serious risk to their business.

▶︎シャネルの偽物で最悪なパターンはどんなの？
こういうことが、数回起こると
双方が気づいておられないケースというのも案外多いのだな・・

それだけシャネルが人気である証拠でもありますが。。
＠＠オークションで偽物のジャケットを15万で落札した方が
評価に「とても華やかなジャケットで嬉しいです」
などと書かれているのを見ると胸が痛みます。
