控えめでありながら常にエレガントなシャネルの装いは
長年、世界で最も影響力のある女性たちに愛されてきました
ジャッキー・ケネディはシャネルを愛用し

その中で、ダイアナ妃とシャネルとの関係は少し複雑でした。
【ダイアナ妃のストーリー】
ダイアナ妃はシャネルの美しく洗練されたデザインに魅了され、1988年のフランス旅行の際、初めてシャネルのクラシックな赤いコートを着用しました。

私はそれにぴったり合うシャネルの靴を見つけて
『これ、ヴェルサーチにぴったりだよ』と勧めました。
しかし彼女は
『私はもうリンクされたC（ダブルC）は着られないの』って
その理由を尋ねると、
『だってカミラ (Camilla )とチャールズ (Charles)だから』
と彼女は悲しげに答えました」
エピソードからもわかるように
ダイアナ妃がシャネルに身を包んだ姿は非常に少なく
現在ではそのシャネル作品は
非常に貴重なものとなっています
ダイアナの生涯を描いた映画『スピンサー』でも
この赤いコートは重要なシーンで登場します
撮影で使用するにはあまりにも貴重だったため
シャネルは手間をかけてレプリカを作り直しました
衣装デザイナーJacqueline Durranはこう語ります
：「赤いコートは映画の中でダイアナを
最もよく表現している衣装でした。
私たちはダイアナ妃のスタイルの精神を捉えたかったのですが
単にそのスタイルを模倣するのではなく
彼女の本質を反映させることを目指しました
そして、赤いコートがその出発点となったのです」

The understated yet always elegant attire of Chanel has been adored by the world’s most influential women for many years.
Jackie Kennedy was a devoted fan of Chanel, and women of the Monégasque royal family have also served as ambassadors for the brand.
Among them, the relationship between Princess Diana and Chanel was somewhat complicated.
【 Princess Diana's Story 】
Princess Diana was captivated by Chanel's beautiful and refined designs and wore her first classic red Chanel coat during a trip to France in 1988.
This is the very coat we are introducing today. It features beautiful lines, meticulous stitching, and gold buttons that shine with elegance. It is said that Diana was particularly fond of it.
However, after that, Princess Diana was seen wearing Chanel only a few times. Later, the reason for this became clear.
Australian designer Jayson Brundson shared a story in Harper’s Bazaar about when he picked out a pair of Chanel shoes for Princess Diana in 1996.
“She chose a Versace skirt, and I found a pair of Chanel shoes that would match perfectly. I suggested, 'These would look great with the Versace,' but she said, 'No, I can't wear linked Cs, the double C.' So I asked why, and she said, 'It's Camilla and Charles.'
As this story shows, Princess Diana was rarely seen wearing Chanel, and today, these Chanel pieces have become incredibly valuable.
The red coat also appears in a crucial scene in the movie Spencer, which portrays the life of Diana.
As the pieces were too valuable to be used for filming, Chanel painstakingly recreated replicas.
Costume designer Jacqueline Durran explains,
"The red coat was the first costume that really encapsulated Diana for our movie. We wanted to capture the spirit of Princess Diana’s style, but not slavishly copy
– and the red coat was our starting point."
The choice of red is a difficult one, but the shade chosen by Diana exudes royal elegance and a sense of luxury.
