CHANEL 14S「CHANEL Art」|Karl Lagerfeld時期如何重構花呢外套?【2014 SS】 | TW

During Karl Lagerfeld’s era, CHANEL Spring Summer 2014 (14S) did not simply place clothes in a gallery. The Grand Palais itself became “CHANEL Art”, presenting the clothes, set and accessories as one exhibition. 薄紗重疊、前片位移與透明感,讓經典花呢輪廓像雕塑般重新組合。

Paintings and sculptures conceived by Karl Lagerfeld filled the venue, while the clothes carried colour charts and pointillist effects. The white space held the saturated shades and kept each look sharply outlined.

The full show reveals how the gallery works and the models answer one another in motion.

Taking apart and rebuilding CHANEL tweed jackets

Surfaces that resemble tweed were reconstructed from layers of narrow tulle. Colour-swatch fragments and jackets worn from the shoulders with their fronts removed dismantle the classic form while retaining a recognisable CHANEL line.

The detail film brings the tulle layers, colour boundaries and accessory textures into close view.

Pointillist makeup and wing-like fringe in CHANEL 14S

Pointillist makeup and fringe extending like wings become part of the gallery. Spray-painted backpacks, art portfolios and asymmetric pearls carry the exhibition idea beyond the clothes.

Asymmetry and transparency make tweed feel lighter

Look beyond the vivid colour to the unequal sides, sheer layers and open space around jackets placed over the shoulders. The appeal of 14S lies in making substantial tweed feel light by shifting its outline.
