Authenticating a Chanel Guarantee Card

Chanel bags come with a warranty certificate in the form of a

G card (guarantee card) and a sticker on the item itself.

(Clothes do not come with these)

The card contains text in Japanese, French, and English, and the numbers assigned to each are

also called "serial numbers."

Please keep this warranty certificate safe.

The number on the card matches the serial number on the bag.

For example, this Chanel bowling bag has its serial number inside the pocket when the zipper is opened, and it matches the number on the card.

This serves as proof of authenticity.

(The serial sticker may sometimes be attached in hard-to-find places, such as deep inside a zippered pocket.)

However, even without this warranty certificate, repairs may be possible if the item is genuine,

so please inquire at a Chanel boutique.

Especially when selling bags you no longer need, having both the serial sticker and the guarantee card

will increase their value, so we recommend keeping them.
