Once upon a time,
100 years ago, in 1923,
women in Paris would hide themselves in tight, restrictive clothing
to make their bodies look sexy.
With wire corsets,
their busts were cinched tightly,
and their waists were incredibly slender!
You know, like in movies, with their chests
looking like they were about to spill out...
It's hard to imagine now, with women working as a matter of course,
but I'm truly impressed by how women back then
managed to live in such restrictive clothing.
From my perspective, as someone who loves Uniqlo's bra-top tank tops,
it's practically torture.
Even Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel at the time
thought, "I have to do something about this restrictiveness!"
She moved to Switzerland during World War II, but then
reopened her boutique in Paris and returned to the fashion world.
From then on, she successively implemented ideas that were unique at the time,
embarking on the liberation of women.

Coco also has this anecdote:
Coco borrowed the tweed jacket of her then-lover,
the Duke of Westminster, and tried it on.
She unexpectedly found it to be "incredibly easy to move in!" and
quickly incorporated it into her own designs, which gradually gained popularity.
This tweed was the origin that gave birth to the Chanel jacket.

"A revolution"
That's what Chanel's jacket was called.
