A plausible number is only the beginning.
The product, colour and material-code combination must exist for that model.
For CHANEL 2013 Cruise 13C, TC JAPAN found a dress with an unverified colour code and a jacket label that differed from authentic examples of the same model.
Popular, scarce or newly rediscovered older models may still be copied.
Check the actual CHANEL tweed jacket or dress in the photos
A beautiful photograph may show another garment.
TC JAPAN photographs have been copied, stripped of their watermark and reused. Compare repeated images and request fresh views of the full garment, label, codes, buttons, lining, cuffs and hem.
Borrowed images can hide crushed tweed, shape loss and wear. Look for repeated listing photographs and request a fresh image linking the label to the actual garment.
High ratings and prices do not prove CHANEL clothing is authentic
A seller may be acting in good faith and still fail to recognise a sophisticated counterfeit; the evidence for the individual garment remains essential. A seller may also be unaware of the problem.
A sophisticated fake may later show shape loss, abrasion, fuzzing or weak fabric. The return deadline may then have passed, and resale may be refused.
