Presented on December 6, 2016, CHANEL’s 2016/17 Métiers d’Art show moved through the lobby and salons of the Ritz Paris instead of following a conventional runway.

Cara Delevingne, Lily-Rose Depp and Pharrell Williams appeared among the cast. The scene felt less like a fashion show than a glamorous evening in which every hotel guest had dressed for dinner.

CHANEL 17PF Ivory Tweed Jackets with Pearls and Floral Braid

From a distance, the jackets look beautifully composed. Up close, layers of glass pearls, tweed flowers, embroidery and braid reveal the workmanship behind the collection.

Ivory brightens the face and softens the gleam of gold and pearls. Rich in detail, quiet in colour—a balance that makes these pieces especially memorable.

CHANEL 17PF Dresses and Suits Made for Dinner at the Ritz

Karl Lagerfeld imagined evening looks inspired by women who once dined at the Ritz. Waist-defining dresses appeared beside knitted suits layered with pearls.

Black brought the tension of a night salon; ivory seemed to hold the light of day. The palette shifts as though time were passing inside the hotel.
